Amanda Marsden & Hayley Williams
Amanda started out in the industry at sixteen years old, having a passion for cutting hair, which later expanded into the love of people and all things associated with crafting beauty. Amanda shares “I had a dream to create a beautiful space, encompassing all elements of our industry under one roof, with a business conscience for environmental impact and well-being”.
Totnes business opened in 1995, and after discovering Aveda and a love for the results, the brand became Amanda’s product of choice. The business grew stronger daily, “I quickly realised guests appreciated care, great skill and most importantly being listened to”.
A business degree and a Masters in Leadership and Change, from Exeter University - Exeter was conceptualised. Exeter opened its doors in October 2013 and shortly afterwards Amanda entered into partnership with Hayley. Hayley shared the same motivation and passion for great standards within the industry, having started her career at the age of thirteen.
Together, Amanda & Hayley marketed the business, by hosting events, with pure drive and passion for the success of the salon, a reputation for professionalism and an amazing team of lovely skilled people started to flourish. Hayley openly shares “I love my work more today than any other, I get such a buzz from the salon floor, my work is so rewarding”.
Today, Exeter feels established - Amanda and Hayley remain committed to delivering high standards of hospitality, service and care, - And more recently reassurance of safety for all team members and guests. They actively seek out areas within the business for environmental leadership and look to the future with belief and passion for continuing success, and for this they feel blessed.
